Recipe: Spiced Oatmeal

There's a chill in the air! Oatmeal, besides being a nutrient-packed whole food, is a quick and filling breakfast for cold mornings. Start your busy fall mornings right with this delicious, spiced oatmeal recipe, a quick and healthy breakfast that will keep busy mamas fueled and satisfied as you conquer your days!

Makes 4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups quick-cook oatmeal (dry) *A Village favorite are the sprouted oats from Costco!
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ginger
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 TBSP pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup pecans, crushed
  • 1 cup pomegranate seeds

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook oatmeal on stovetop according to package directions.
  2. Over low heat, simmer, and stir in all ingredients (except the pomegranate seeds) until everything is warm and melted.
  3. Top with pomegranate seeds.
