How One Mom Found Her Purpose (and Her People) Through FIT4MOM

[This post was previously shared on FIT4MOM's Blog here]

When movement has always been a part of your life, it’s hard to imagine a version of yourself without it. Before becoming a mom, Rebekah Murphy of FIT4MOM North Atlanta was a classically trained ballet dancer and a college athlete. She loved outdoor boot camps and group fitness classes. But once she became a mom, everything changed.

Suddenly, the gym didn’t feel like the right fit. Rebekah didn’t feel comfortable leaving her baby in daycare, and she craved a space where she could care for her body and have her little one by her side.

That’s when she stumbled upon FIT4MOM. A quick web search opened the door to something totally different—and life-changing.

The First Class Changed Everything

It took a couple of months for Rebekah to build up the courage to attend her first class. (New moms get it.) But in July 2016, she finally did it—and from the moment she arrived, she knew this wasn’t just another stroller walk in the park. It was a real workout. Surrounded by welcoming, supportive women, Rebekah felt seen in a way she hadn’t in a long time.

She signed up for a membership that day.

In those early days, Rebekah drove 30 minutes each way to get to class—with a toddler in tow. She says, “It was worth every mile. I wasn’t just getting stronger physically—I was finding my people. I found encouragement, laughter, deep friendship, and the kind of support I didn’t even know I was missing.”

Driven by Purpose, Community, and Growth

Rebekah’s decision to become a FIT4MOM owner was fueled by a belief in the power of movement and community to transform motherhood—because she’d lived it. “I joke that I don’t know how to be a mom without FIT4MOM.”

“Moms set the tone for their family’s health and happiness. FIT4MOM gives us the strength, support, and tools to do just that.”

As a franchisee, Rebekah gets to lead in a way that’s authentic to her local community. She’s growing a thriving business (recently named Rookie Franchise of the Year in 2025!) while staying true to FIT4MOM's core values that matter deeply to her: love, inclusivity, ripple, authenticity, inspiration, and positivity. It’s business with heart—and that’s what makes it so fulfilling.

The Support That Made All the Difference

What surprised Rebekah most about FIT4MOM’s franchise model wasn’t just the strong business systems—it was the community of fellow owners.

“The network of franchisees across the country has been invaluable. We share ideas, offer support, troubleshoot challenges, and celebrate wins together. It’s not just about running your own business. It’s about doing it alongside a community of smart, motivated women who genuinely want to help each other succeed.”

“That support has made me a better leader and a more confident business owner.”

Why This Path Worked for Rebekah—and Might Work for You

Before kids, Rebekah had a career in nonprofit leadership. She loved the work and stepped into leadership roles at a young age. After her first child was born, she transitioned to being home full-time. While Rebekah stayed connected through volunteering, she missed using her professional skillset.

Owning a FIT4MOM franchise allows Rebekah (and many other franchisees!) to reconnect with those professional skills—and do it in a way that fits into their mom lifestyle. FIT4MOM franchisees get to grow their businesses during nap times and between school drop-offs. “I get to exercise with my best mom friends. And yes—I have a lot of fun doing it.”

What Rebekah Loves Most About Being an Owner

It’s the ripple effect.

“I see it in my daughter flexing her muscles and calling herself strong. I hear it in her teachers’ notes, recognizing leadership skills beyond her years. I witness it in new moms gaining confidence, Body Well clients transforming their health, and friendships that carry on long after maternity leave ends.

We live our mission every day—and it matters.”

Rebekah is proud of the business she’s built. She’s proud of the moms she’s empowered. “And I’m proud that every step has been guided by authenticity and love.”

Our Village is Like No Other

Even in a large metro area with multiple class locations, the FIT4MOM North Atlanta Village is deeply connected. Different backgrounds, different neighborhoods—but one shared experience.

Whether it’s a sweaty workout, Mom’s Night Out, or a toddler playgroup, the support runs deep. They’ve created consistency, trust, and a high-quality experience that keeps moms coming back—and bringing others with them.

“We’ve grown, but we’ve never lost sight of who we are.”
